Are donations processed through this site?
This site simply links to the official sites of various charities. No donation payments are processed via this website.

How do you choose which charities to list?
I have chosen a variety of charities which serve different causes. The aim is to provide ideas for your valentines day donations. As I live in Australia, I have in many cases chosen the Australian presence of charities, although often they have major offices outside of Australia. Where information is available, I have validated the operations of these charities via the "Charity Navigator" website, looking for their four star (highest rated) charities. The absence of a charity on this site does not indicate in any way that I do not support it's cause or believe it operates effectively, and I encourage you to choose whatever charity you would most like to support, whether it is listed here or not.

Who runs "donate for valentines"
"Donate for Valentines" is run by Kurt Euston.

Why did you start this site?
It seemed like a good idea... initially I thought I'd do it myself - donate to charity instead of buying valentines gifts - and then I thought why not encourage other people to do the same.

What do you get out of this?
If the site is successful, I get the satisfaction of seeing people make a contribution to a good cause each year on valentines day. I receive no financial benefit as a result of running this website.

When did you start this site?
2007 was the first year for "Donate for Valentines". After two quietly successful years "Donate for Valentines" is growing.
